With the implementation of the amendment to the Medical Act enabling the installation of CCTV (closed circuit television) in operating rooms to be implemented one year ahead, as a security equipment specialist, FOCUS H&S’ ‘medical management solution’ received favorable reviews from experts.

FOCUS H&S announced on the 5th that it successfully completed its exhibition promotion activities for MVS (Medical Video System), a CCTV system dedicated to operating rooms participating in the 'International Hospital and Medical Equipment Industry Fair' (K-HOSPITAL FAIR 2022) held at COEX in Samseong-dong, Seoul from the 29th of last month to the 1st of this month.

The Health and Welfare Committee of the National Assembly deliberated on three amendments to the Medical Act, which were initiated in the form of legislation by lawmakers from July to December 2020. This is due to the increased awareness of the need to prevent illegal acts in the operating room and to secure objective evidence in the event of a medical dispute. This law passed the plenary session of the National Assembly at the end of August last year and will be implemented from September 25 next year after a two-year grace period.

The revised medical law stipulates that surgical scenes must be filmed in the following cases; △Hospitals that perform surgery while the patient is unconscious are obliged to install CCTV and △if requested by the patient or the patient's guardian.

Hosted by the Korea Hospital Association, this exposition was held under the theme of 'Smart Medical, Leading the Digital New Deal', and 180 companies participated with 450 booths. FOCUS H&S introduced an operating room CCTV MVS in the smart medical sector.

This system perfectly implements functions such as a dedicated image storage system, carrying out encryption, video forgery prevention, and personal video control, so that it can safely manage the operating room CCTV video from recording to carry out. FOCUS H&S allowed participants to demonstrate and experience all the functions of the MVS system through on-site consultation at this fair.

An official from FOCUS H&S said, “Based on our outstanding video information protection integrated management solution technology, we have developed it as a Medical Video System (MVS) optimized for video management and personal information protection for hospitals, medical personnel and patients.” It will be the best product that can safely and efficiently manage operating room CCTV images from small and medium-sized hospitals.”
